A few weeks ago up at the in-laws summer home, I was part of a team to destroy an enormous wasp nest that sprung up in the last few weeks on a tree next to the house. After much deliberation, the plan was to spray the nest with bee spray until the nest was covered in it, then we would somehow remove it.The first step was to build up enough courage to spray the nest, next was to actually do it.Spray N Run OffenseSince too much running was involved with that effort, someone had to show them how it’s done.Don’t cross the streamsThe bee spray was advertised to kill on contact, it didn’t kill anything. The nest was dripping with the stuff and the bees were eating it up and spitting it out. I think I even heard a few laughing at us.Since the bee spray didn’t work, some improvisation was needed. We needed to bring in the big guns and get the job done. So, let’s just hack at the nest until it’s in pieces. Hack 1Hack 2Once again, Uncle Jimmy saved the day.The nest was reduced to small pieces after that, and the bees that were leftover immediately started rebuilding. We’ll be back in a few weeks to scope out our next mission. No animals were hurt during the making of this movie, even more amazing no alcohol was involved.Update:In a related story, Giant Hornet's Nest Terrorizes Neighborhood
