Flying High

Great news today from the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today for High Definiton Television enthusiasts.

First, DirectTV announced they're expanding there HDTV lineup by adding a PPV channel as well as committing to showing high definition NFL football on NFL Sunday Ticket. Unfortunately, there was no mention of ESPN-HD being added to DirectTV's lineup.

The major news was from TiVo and DirectTV: TiVowill be selling a high definition PVR by years end. It will include all TiVo features (pause live TV, record TV shows, etc.) but it will also record high definition programming from satellite and over the air (OTA) inputs. I just hope they release it by the end of the year, I can't wait.

are you saying that witht he NFL Sunday Ticket, you will have the regular broadcast AND the same amount of games but you can watch them in HD? Or is it one or two games in HD per week. Please advise.

For the upcoming games this year, it will be one game per week (on CBS) since Fox isn't really HD.

Sunday & Monday Night Football will be in HD each week.
