WTC report
The NY Times has an unbelievably detailed report on the findings of what caused the World Trade Center to collapse. Here's a snippet:"But the fires continued to burn. Black smoke poured from shattered windows on floor after floor, fresh oxygen sucked in from the gaping holes caused by the impacts. In the northeast corner of the south tower's 80th floor, where office furniture had been shoved by the plane, the fire burned so hot that a stream of molten metal began to pour over the side like a flaming waterfall.The apparent source of this waterfall: molten aluminum from the jet's wings and fuselage, which had also piled up in that corner. Within minutes, portions of the 80th floor began to give way, as evidenced by horizontal lines of dust blowing out the side of the building. Seconds later, near the heavily damaged southeasterly portion of this same floor, close to where the aircraft had entered, exterior columns began to buckle."

Napster whining
I guess I was one of the 50 people watching the Grammy's on TV and saw Michael Greene's speech.Boy, was I outraged at the crap spewing from this guy. "This illegal file-sharing and ripping of music files is pervasive, out of control and oh so criminal."The illegal part is the file-sharing, not the ripping of music files. As an owner of a CD, I have the right to copy and even rip the music I purchase, there's nothing criminal about it. Even though napster has been dead for over a year, record sales are down 10%. But now RIAA is blaming Morpheus and Kazaa for this? You would think that with Napster dead, people would be more inclined to purchase CDs.I think it's time the music industry started looking inwards on this problem. Maybe sales are down because your not producing a quality product. In my limited experience in downloading music, it usually lead me to purchase a CD or two after I've listened to a new artist. Michaeel Greene didn't really offer any solutions to this "virus" except to download the files from legal web sites. This doesn't solve the problem of sharing. If I download a file from your legal web site, what is stopping me from sharing it?It's a complex problem and the solutions are even more complicated. Michael Greene didn't do anything to help his case, he just sounded like a whining little kid ready to take his bat and ball and go home.
