I stumbled upon Rachel Yamagata a few weeks ago, hearing half of a song on XRT. The DJ praised her recent concert in Chicago. I tried to remember her name so I could buy her CD when I got home. Luckily, I did and it's found it's way in the CD player so often I thought I would pass along this up and coming star.
The same thing happened a few years ago with Norah Jones. Sumbled upon her, bought the CD, loved it, just missed her concert in Chicago and then she takes off.
Go get her CD "Happenstance".
